Best gangster movies you must watch

We can watch any kind and type of movies. Movies are made on different subjects and categories. Movies on gangsters and gangs are arguably most popular ones. They give us the insight of the gangsters life, their organisational  skills, politics and their way of living life.
Here i'm telling my favorite top 10 gangster movies that you  must watch if you hadn't yet.

1. The Godfather


Its directed by Francis Ford Cappola and screenplay by Mario Puzzo and Cappola. Marlon Brandon, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall are in the main cast. It is consider as one of the greatest movie all time. This movie goes around the life of Vito Corleone(Marlon Brandon), the head of corleone family and Mafia boss about his rise in mafia , his rules and philosophy, his relationship with  family. 

2.The Godfather 2



It is the sequel of The Godfather. With Al Pacino in the lead, plays the role of Michael Corleone, the new head of the Corleone Family, who with his decision making ability and intelligence expand the Family business from Gambling to Casinos. Screenplay is very good and performances by the actors are just cherry on the cake.

3.Goodfellas


This is the masterpiece of the Martin Scorsese, backing up with the brilliant performances of Robert de Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci. Screenplay of movie is pretty fast making combo with blistreing  dialouges. Its give a good over and insight view of italian neighbourhood how it works,connections and relationships.

4.Once upon a time in america


Written and driected by Sergio Leone and starring Robert De Nero and James Woods in a main role. It revolves around the lives of Jewish Ghetto Youths who rasied in New York City's world of organized crime. It explores the themes of childhood friendship, love, lust, greed, rise of american mob in the Society.

5.Scarface


Scarface is consider as one of the movies in which Al Pacino has given his one of the greatest performances of his carreer. Directed by Brain de Palma in 1983 , movie tells the story of a ambitious cuban immigrant who wants become a hot shot in the greatest country of planet.
A must watch movie for all the Al Pacino fans.

6.The Departed


Unargubly the best work of Martin Scorsese. With its eye catchy screenplay and sound story telling with great actors , it is a great experience to watch the movie. The dialouges and camera work is quite good. its  the story of swapping of good and bad guy in bad and good profession respectively which revolves around hide and seek between irish mob Frank Costello and FBI and State police department.

7.Casino


Again directed by Martin Scorsese who had a unbeatable talent in making gangsta movies. Cating Robert De Niro his favourite actor in the main role. Release in 1995 , movie is taken hand to hand by viewers as well as critics. Story revolves around 1970, where mobster Sam 'ace' Rothstein in Los Vegas City related  to casino's crimes.

8.The Untouchables


The Untouchables was released on June 3, 1987, and received positive reviews. Observers praised the film for its approach, as well as its direction. Under wonderful movie direxted by Brian De Palma starring the king of mobster movies, Robert de Nero as the Notorious and equally famous gangster Al Capone.
The Film follows Ness and his untouchables effort to bring Capone to justice during prohibition.

9.Carlito's Way


Released in 1993, starring Al Pacino in a lead role directed by Brain De Palma. The film follows the life of Carlito Brigante after he is released from prison and vows to go straight and retire. However, unable to escape his past, he ends up being dragged into the same criminal activities that got him imprisoned in the first place.
Al Pacino also seen to have Beard look for this movie which become very popular at that time.

10.American Gangster


It is a biographical crime film directed by Ridelly Scott. It is based on the crime life of Frank Lucas, how he become heroin kingpin and who he is tackle down by a honest but unorthodox detective Richie Roberts. Denzel Washington and Russell Crow are in lead roles.
